THINK ABOUT IT THURSDAY: TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
Every Thursday Rymax Marketing Services Inc. strives to help educate current and potential business partners about the inner workings of our industry. Whether the program you’re offering is for customer loyalty, employee recognition, player rewards or corporate gifting, we’re tapping into the expertise of some of our staff to provide you with valuable insider information that can help you build a successful and impactful program.
Monday, August 21st marks the date of the first total solar eclipse in 99 years to stretch coast-to-coast across the United States and the first to grace the skies of the lower 48 states in 38 years. During a total solar eclipse the moon moves between the sun and earth, causing a shadow in certain areas and creating darkness in the sky in others.
If you’re lucky, you’ll be in one of the 14 states that are located within the 70-mile-wide ribbon that will experience the total solar eclipse. It will be the first time since June 8, 1918 that an eclipse’s path of totality exclusively crosses the continental U.S. from coast to coast. Even if you aren’t going to be in one of the 14 lucky states (Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina), a partial eclipse can be seen in every state across the country. The fact that we are all a part of history being made is pretty epic!
Though the total solar eclipse doesn’t come around very often, there are plenty of other celestial phenomena to experience and appreciate. Luckily, Rymax is here to ensure that you don’t miss the next one!
