Generation Z: A Prediction of Corporate Habits (Infographic)
Within the first quarter of 2015, Pew Research Center released a report finding that Millennials have surpassed Generation X as the largest share of the American workforce. While this generation currently dominates the workforce, the oldest Generation Z is in their early twenties and entering the corporate world. This young and digitally-inspired generation will challenge the workforce once again, leaving them to learn new ways on how to engage, manage and retain employees.
Like Millennials, Generation Z’ers aim to make a positive impact on society. They are eager to start working and are driven to succeed individually. In fact, a recent study by Millennial Brand and Internships.com found that 4 out of 5 Gen Z’ers believe they are more driven than their peers. They are resourceful, multi-taskers that have an eye for leadership. However, actually living and working in the corporate world may not come as easy as they think.
Adeco Staffing found that 28% of Gen X’ers plan to land their dream job after college and 31% believe they will be financially stable post-graduation. Whether they obtain a job quickly after college or not, it’s important to understand this generation’s corporate habits in order to successfully lead them into your company’s culture.
