A recent study conducted by The B Team and Virgin Unite highlights the ever-changing trends in the traditional way of working and puts focus on workplace expectations for 2016.
The study found that technology advancements, global connectivity and the multi-generational workforce has led to substantial changes in the workplace. Employees want to invest their time and career in more purpose-driven organizations that measure success by its positive impact on society, as opposed to profit. In fact, according to Deloitte, 92% of Millennials and 72% of business leaders reject the concept of measuring success solely by profit.
2016 will be a game-changing year for the traditional workplace, especially as our society becomes more globally connected. The ordinary 9-5 job is not going to appeal to a diverse workforce and business leaders need to begin creating employee experience strategies that put emphasis on workplace engagement and satisfaction.
Offering an employee recognition program or a peer-to-peer program, which are designed to put the needs of staff first, will ultimately assist companies in retaining valuable staff members.
